Rich in beta-carotene and lycopene, they are a powerful blend of beneficial substances. Their vitamin A content means they also have powerful antioxidant properties. Picking is done by hand and starts in early May, continuing through to mid-July. The fruit is yellow-orange in colour with a red blush, has a slightly velvety skin and tastes amazing. Excellent in sweets, though they are also delicious eaten out of hand, they would have to be one of the best-loved summer fruits!
